Any help you guys could offer would be great. I learned to shoot when I was a kid. But, I have no formal training, and I am definitely no expert. Probably, I go to the pistol range by work every month or two. I want to join cmp, but it requires live fire training.

Any ideas on a good course, rifle or pistol? A beginner course would be a waste, but again, I am no expert.

Don't mean to threadjack, but do you have to be a member of the IWLA to attend classes there? I am considering either the basic rifle or basic pistol class next month but really prefer not to have to pay membership dues on top of the course fees right now.

    What area do you live/work?

IWLA sponsored NRA courses are open to all (except ladies pistol).

IWLA members often receive discounts on registration fees.
