I shot this 8 pointer on opening day of the MD firearms season last year and dropped it off with Gilbert Harrell. These pictures really don't do justice to the quality of his work.

The detail in the mouth, nostrils, tear ducts, and eyes is amazing.

Don't worry cameras never do anything justice. The result looks great. If I didn't know any better I swear you snuck in my house and took a picture of my deer on the wall LMAO. the ceiling, wall color, and 8 pointer almost match perfectly LOL But your brow tines are huge. Awesome trophy !

Gilbert's an old buddy and neighbor from the Harbor and does FANTASTIC work!!
I've been using him even before he went full time with taxidermy. The little details he adds (plus perfect eye work) really set off his mounts.

    Thanks guys!

Here is a pic of him next to my other mount which was shot about 5 years ago on a different property but also has long brow tines. The other one, with the double throat patch, was done by Donnie Hooper.

Your older mount looks like it needs to be dusted off LOL. I like to use those woolen duster things. Or use the shop vac blower, but be careful of the lay of the hair on a deer- blow with the hair, not against it. An air hose on a lower pressure is good to clean around the face and eyes.
