For you AR pistol builders I have an intent to build one from one of my old lowers. I have a 10" ADCOR upper and access to a Colt 10.5" Commando upper. Which would be your choice? Also plan on an SBR.

Build your pistol and try them both out. You will get > 29 inches with a 10.5 inch barrel and probably will with a 10 inch. So you should be good to SBR either.

You may also be good swapping them even after SBRing the lower. They are so close in length.

Both of your choices are top notch. If I had to choose one it would be the Colt, cause it's a Colt.

Use the ADCOR upper and just throw that commando upper away... You know what? I'll dispose of it for ya. I'm just a nice guy like that. :D

Here is my recently completed pistol :-)

    300 blackout 9.5in

    now...that is truly sexy.

Remember you can buy all the parts for a sbr legally, or a pistol. You just can't put them together.

Replacements for an existing build, however, is fine. ;-)

I bought the lower recently and built my 'other' into a pistol. I got the complete upper from Gunbroker. Can't wait for the suppressor paper work to clear.

I would go with a .300 black-out, from what I've read about these things, given barrel size. Looks like it would be a nice item to have in a SHTF scenario in a big city.
