Hi all. My Father has a G23 that he wants to gift to me. Are the necessary forms available online or do I have to visit a MSP barracks? Do I understand correctly that the forms just have to be faxed in with no fee or wait? Thanks so much for the help!

So, how I read it is that for example... Dad gives pistol to Son immediately and then within 5 days paperwork has to be done, at a MSP barracks, just like a regulated sale?

A gift works like a secondary sale, except the fee on the application is waived and from what I understand so is the waiting period (which is only 7 days for a secondary sale anyway, regardless of how long "not disapproved" is taking).

You can't download forms online. You and your dad need go to an MSP barracks. Leave the gun in the car. Tell trooper you want to do a gift transfer of a regulated firearm. Fill out the forms, you and your dad sign. Go home happy.
