Elk Neck range maintenance

Just FYI that the rifle range will be closing starting on April 8th to make repairs. It'll be closed the entire day to install the uprights and more closures later to build the actual baffles. April 8th is the only date I have firm right now, but will update when I know more.

How long will it be closed? Will the shotgun and pistol areas be affected? Thanks for the heads up, I really enjoy going there.

It'll be closed the entire day on the 8th, then the entire day for as many days as it takes to complete the job (these dates aren't set yet). The shotgun range shares a common cease fire with rifle, so it will be closed. I'm not sure on pistol yet, but I do have the question out.

The pistol range should remain open during the rifle range work. As always, please make sure that your rounds impact the berm and don't go high into the baffles.

Dates have been selected for the upcoming closures and are as follows:

Rifle and Shotgun Ranges:

Closed all day April 8, 2013

Closed all day April 15, 16, 17, 2013

These closures are to allow for the replacement baffle destroyed in the February fire.
