My MD Shooters forum searching kung fu is weak. Can someone point me to a thread, so I don't get beat up for starting a dupe?

I have a coworker who has inherited about 8 guns from her dad in another state. She wants to be careful bringing them into the state. There is a mix of pistols and rifles, with no ARs, AKs or banned items.

    Thanks in advance.

Guns inherited from out of state do not need to go through an FFL.

They will need to be put on a 77r with MSP however

I believe I see an SKS with removable mag. That would be a banned item, unless they can retrofit a fixed one.

Not sure how that applies to inheritance from out of state.

    ETA:
Specifically, it looks like an SKS-M that supports removable mags, not the duckbill style that can be swapped in for fixed mags so you may be out of luck.

Good to know. I never had or was interested in an SKS, so I didn't pay attention to whether or not it was getting banned in 2013. Thanks.

I think the M11 is banned as well but if the OP is getting it through inheritance it should be ok AFAIK

Not sure that you can inherit these. They are not part of FSA 2013, but are instead part of an earlier ban on some pistols. I don't remember anything about inheriting them

All good information. Thank you. Now I know more about what to research. I had no idea that clunky semi-auto M11 would be banned. That thing seems to get in its own way rather than being extra deadly.
