I’m getting ready to submit my carry application; livescan is tomorrow. Reading the application: does a history of addiction/drunkard disqualify you from carry? Do the regulations define what qualifies as ‘drunkard’ or ‘addict’? I’m in mental health care and those terms apply to a significant portion of the public depending on the definition. Not looking to pry into anyone’s application; looking for online legal opinions and perspectives.
Am I disqualifying a patient for life if I code him as ‘addict’? In theory addiction/drunkard is a lifelong disease even if they never use again.
If an applicant answers yes to one of these questions because of addiction 25 years ago that is now resolved; are they opening their whole history of health care for discussion during the interview?
