    Ok- talking about paint here....
    1. Cool or not cool?
    2. Would you do it to an entire rifle?

Hmm... almost looks like faux snakeskin. Not sure is I would do the whole rifle, might be too gaudy. Interesting look though.

What are you doing up a 2:40 in the morning? Wait...what am I doing up at 2:40 in the morning....?

I think doing the whole rifle would look kinda gaudy to me too. But you know, at the end of the day it doesn't matter what I think, what matters is how much the guy who owns the rifle likes it. We all have different tastes. For instance, I like the Arctic Panther white on black pattern that DPMS makes, I'm sure plenty of others don't.

Don’t worry, I wasn’t going to do it on the Colt. I was thinking about it on the spike tactical. The darker brown dots need to fade in and out more. I was trying to make it more inconsistent.

Yeah I think doing the entire rifle would look a bit cheesy too. I refinished my rifle stock on my Marlin 781 .22 with a metallic blue, it turned out great, but, doing the whole rifle would look a bit "cartoonish".

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm going to spray a set of handguards and go for less polka dots.

Be sure to use a satin or flat clear coat over the Krylon. You may even want to go to the expense of using a quality spray like Rustoleum, at least it is designed to adhere to metal.

I like it. I'm trying my hand at refinishing my savage's syn stock. It was so sharp i cut my self on it a couple of times and decided to smooth it out. It had to be painted after all the scraping and sanding.

I'm halfway through doing a DCU-pattern aluma-hyde II job on my 597. The stock, barrel, action, scope, all have a base coat of Desert Tan.

Once my wrists are better and I have time I'll get it finished.
