Is it possible to convert ten round mecgar mags for my Sig into 13 or 15 capacity mags when I leave California? PCSed to Cali for 18 months, will PCS to a friendlier state 18 months from now. Just wondering.

    thanks

When you LEAVE California, what's stopping you from buying new mags?

I am thinking maybe the guy thinks since he already paid good $$, why not "fix" them when he is free of CA rules.

To the OP, some mags are just blocked to hold a smaller capacity, however many are physically modified so that no one can alter them. Without seeing the mags, I can't advise you.

You have two options, sell them in CA or use them for IDPA.

usually there is either a block, or the follower is extra long to cut the capacity. my stock arsenal 5 round AK mag was like this...all i did was cut down the follower and the follower stop, remove 2 coils off of the spring and tada...10 round mag :) k-var sells a 10 dollar kit to do this, but i figured it was cheaper to just go at it myself...your mags are most likely the same way...so some work to the follower and spring should be all that is needed.

an easy way to tell is just to take the mag apart and look at the follower.
