I, too, have a friend in CT. (To the folks above, is yours named Jeff C.?)

He's been fighting it, but even the Republicans rolled in the name of "doing something".

Magazines greater than 10 rounds must be registered. How the heck is that going to work?

I can see trying to register millions of spring-loaded boxes with no serial numbers working so well.

    :sarcasm:

Is there mandated engraving of state-issues serial numbers along with the registration of magazines? Because without that the registration of magazines is pretty pointless.

My wife has been edgy with all of my talk of moving. It doesn't have to happen right away, but I need to know it is an option in the future. This state WILL die a painful death at some point down the road, and I want to be far away when it does.
Same thing with me and my wife. The biggest issue is her job - she's a career school teacher, so moving her career involves a bunch of hurdles coupled with a loss in tenure and step pay that she has accumulated over the years, although it could be worse - thanks to Owe'Malley, her pay step has been frozen for 5 years. :mad54:

More than likely what we'll do is either:

a.) completely sell out and move far away - somewhere like Texas or Arizona
b.) suck it up and have her commute from just over the PA State line to her current job until she retires.

Neither option is "ideal" but the truth is, this issue isn't really about guns - that's just what's on the face of it. The real problem is that we have a corrupt government that is purposefully erroding our rights to instill a socialist type of goverment to control the people. I don't understand why we are heading down this road either because history all over Europe tells us that moving toward that kind of a system is desitined for failure.

My best friend who is also in Connecticut is in the same boat. Just got a call from him a few minutes ago saying that the bill passed both chambers and is off to the governor.

Does this ridiculous bill change the fact that CT is, functionally, a shall-issue state? Albeit one without preemption laws.

According to one person I spoke to that writes commentaries for one of the local rags up there, out of a population of 8 million people, almost 1 million have carry permits. I'm still working on the validity of that claim.

There are a lot of 2A advocates in Connecticut. A recent Friends of the NRA dinner I attended in Southington had over 1500 people there.
