One of our own makes the news!!!

fa18hooker shot a 494-22X on Tuesday in tough conditions to win high overall shooter (Daniel Boone Trophy) and high Navy shooter (Wyatt Trophy) in the National Trophy Individual (NTI) Rifle Match at Camp Perry, Ohio: the fifty shot "one day national championship" of CMP Service Rifle. He bested 927 civilian and military competitors including many paid by their service to train and practice full time (Amy Marksmanship Unit, Marine Corps Rifle Team).

It's the first time a Navy shooter's won the trophy since 1977!

    Very well done, Sir!

I have no idea what 494-22x means, but I'm very excited for fa18hooker.
    Congratulations!
    Go Navy!

494 points out of a maximum 500 and of the 50 shots, 22 were Xs or Centers...

I don't know if this was shot at 50, 100, or further distances, but in any case to miss only 6 points out of 500 and to beat that many shooters (many of them professionals) is something to be darn proud of.
