Colt 45 officers 3 1/2 inch barrel

Hi, I purchased this gun not knowing much about it. I got it from a guy that I also got 2 sequential serial numbered dan wessons in 44 mag. It has never been shot and has original box,papers ect. I paid 1,200.00 for it.
Its an 80 series IV and I was wondering if I paid right and when it could have been made.

Prob so. I bought a blued version of the Officer's Model in the 80's.

Ouch !!!!!!!! I know where there is a series 70 Government in nickel 95% they want 950 on consignment. It would go great with that commander it is a tight pistol and in great shape.

I have not shot it yet. To be honest i might just put it away. I alreay have a kimber crimson carry with 3 1/2 barrel so I pretty much know what it might be like.
I really got it as an investment piece.

The gun has never been fired,carried or even been out of a home. its been it its box in a climate controlled state since its purchase back in the 80's.
