What brand/model is worth looking at? I already have an AR and another one about to be complete, but looking at some pistol caliber carbines..

or should i just go for a 22lr conversion kit.

anyone want to sell/trade carbine or conversion kit?

I would go with the ultimate, M1 carbine. Light, reasonable punch, accurate, reliable, collectible, and reasonably priced:

Hi Point carbines. Buy a couple, they're cheap. They also work. They eat anything without indigestion. They are decently accurate. Lifetime warranty. Made in the USA. I've put thousands of rounds through my 9mm Hi-Point and never one mis feed or fail to fire or fail to eject. Just a thought.

Its a fake paratrooper which I use as my campgun, just a CMP service grade inland in a italian repro stock. But shoots "f'n" awesome 1" at 100 yards.

Out of curiousity why does the one on top appeal to you (Obviously at two are commercial guns).

I just like the finish on it, much darker than the others

you did a good job on the paratrooper

Ya, it is a nice little gun. The one in the middle is the rare bird though, Genuine Howa only about 8,000 of them were shipped to Indonesia and it isnt import stamped (and should be)

I am going to build another Para clone at some point but need to find a decent Inland carbine with early type features (non-staked with flip sight and preferably push button safety) for a quasi collector. As that one is my camp gun I carry it alot of placed in PA.

Those arnt bad, not great guns but general concensus seems to be they go bang. I have a Sub2000 and need to call Keltec to see if i can get a new firing pin and spring to enhance its reliability. Its a decent gun, just wont ignite some brands of ammo.

But Keltec has a fabulous reputation of honoring their lifetime warranty.

a vote for both the hi point 995 and m1 carbine. they are often overlooked, but are accurate, light, and have decent punch. 2 of my favorites.

    Hi-point carbines 995 (9mm), 4095 (40 S&W) are the most affordable

Marlin Camp series are great if you can find them; Camp 9(9mm), Camp 45 (45 ACP, uses 1911 mags).

well just looking for something that can serve as a auxiliary weapon. plus something fun to plink with :)

Thanks guys, will be looking into the hi-points kel tec, but the hi points are not that bad looking (995)

but still looking at the 22lr conversion.. just leery due to the mixed reviews. i know some members here love them.
