C&R Renewal Time...Again?

Drat! That familiar green envelope arrived in yesterday's mail.

I s'pose I could pose the question to Yellowsled. But I thought I'd open it up.

Should I fill out and send back the app for the mere cost of $10 per year? - Or should I throw in the towel and shout "Uncle"?

Yesterday I officially disposed of the pages on my old c&r book. It was nice to purge the book and start fresh. If I only had a couple of pages I would renew. If I had any more than that, I would let it expire and renew. My .02

I will be renewing mine for the first time in the coming weeks. I have never used it for a firearm purchase. Is it a requirement to send a completed copy of my renewal form to my CLEO?

Yes. But I 1) send it to the Sheriff as they are more gun friendly in Maryland and 2) I put a note in with it and tell them that this is a Federal notification requirement and requires no action on your part.

This has worked well for me ever since they changed the law.

BTW, I also follow the "let it expire" practice every second time or so. Too big a bound book is too hard to manage.

Mailed my application last weekend and am watching the CC statement for when they take my $30...........then will start watching the mail for my packet.
Perfect timing with tax refund time and all.

When I originally applied I sent my app to the PG Sheriff, even their FB page says they are the highest Leo in the county. They sent it to the PGPD Chief with a letter to me advising the PD was the agency to handle it. The PD sent the app back to me telling me to resubmit the form with the PGPD Chiefs name on it. I said F that I kept the letter and returned app as proof they at least saw the app.

I probably should have excepted PG county and maybe Monkey County in my post as they are not gun friendly.
