OK, I went to the LiveScan webpage. It only has the Glen Bernie location as a place to get fingerprinting. Where else can you go? I live in Southern Maryland.

I believe your local MVA will do it by appointment, as well as the local MSP Barrack. However, you should call first.

    Hi all,

I wanted to clarify something... I own some AR-15 lowers I bought as 80% stripped and finished myself, assembled into a nice build. I own no handguns at present and am an MD resident. I've completed the online MD course, have the number from it. Two questions:

    1. Does the lower, with no factory S/N, count as a weapon that keeps me from having to do the 4-hour class in MD?

    2. If I order a P226 at a store on Tuesday 09/24 is it possible to obtain said handgun next week (or whenever the shop is done with whatever they do) without presenting an HQL to the shop when I want to pick it up?

The page at https://marylandshallissue.com/share/SafetyActFAQ.pdf says that order of restricted weapon before Oct. 1 is allowed to be picked up after Oct. 1 on pg.1, yet on pg. 2 says that obtaining the weapon is not possible after Oct. 1 without an HQL. Like many, I'm confused...

    #1--Don't know.
#2--Nope. And, don't think you're going to get an HQL on Day 1.

    Sorry for the news.

Any idea why ? I mean since I don't plan to change fingers every 30 days? Seriously is there any reason given for this ... besides racketeering infringement etc ... ?

Database storage issues? Privacy issues for non law enforcement entities? I really have no idea at this point for the 30 day limit.

That's just stupid! As far as I know, fingerprints don't change.

They actually do ever so slightly over time. Also, I am not aware of any agency sharing any fingerprints on file for their use, with another agency for that agency's use.

    1. Nope, MSP will require you to provide the make, model and serial number of one (1) regulated firearm to prove exemption.

    2. If you are in an exempt class yes, if not, then you get to wait with the rest of us.
