Bulk Ammo Disposal

I've accumulated about 2 50cal ammo cans worth of junk ammo over the years, and I'm trying to do some house cleaning. Where can I dispose of it?

Some of it is corrosive, some of it is unsafe handloads that were given to me, other random crap. Definitely wouldn't shoot it.

Maybe soak it all in a 5 gallon bucket of water for a few weeks or more and then burry it.

I know a guy who has a furnace which they burn all sorts of stuff in including ammo. Where do you live?

Pull the bullets and use the powder for fertilizer. It's full of nitrogen

They do NOT.

Most ranges will accept 'junk' ammo for professional disposal- but not all.

I took mine to my local police station when I lived in fort benning or whatever it’s named now and the bomb squad destroyed it

Maybe find somebody on here living in a county that accepts this stuff at their hazardous waste drop off and see if that person would be willing to do you a favor and take the ammo there.
