    Hello all,

Wondering what ammo is reccomended for breaking in my Kimber .45? They tend to be difficult for the first 300 rounds or so, was thinking there might be some ammo that would be better for that. Already stripped it and cleaned to try and prevent the rust issue.

    Thanks

I used regular old WWB 230 grain.

1 FTF in the first 250 rounds, ZERO issues since then.

I used the same ammo as Jdiesel in my Stainless Target Custom II. It works fine, and will break in the pistol. You may get a couple FTF at first- the pistols are a little on the tight side out of the box. But once broken in - mine has been flawless. You may find it will break in with far less then the recommended amout of rounds of 230grn FMJs.

Mine has digested well over 6500 without a single feed failure, or issue at all! Do follow the the cleaning and lube interval, dont neglect it. I was using Castrol Syntec Gun oil, but its no longer made. I did switch to Shooters Choice FP-10 Elite Lubricant, and it works very well too. It sticks to where it needs to. I believe Kimber actally recommends this lube, and includes a sample in your box that your pistol came in

Here is what the manual for the Custom II states:
