Dove sized clays. Spent shotgun shells filled with pulverized lime. Targets made from salt dough (add food coloring for variety). Black walnuts (I have tons). Plastic water bottles.

Sidewalk chalk from the dollar store, milk jug caps, ping pong balls, clays, old tennis balls. One other tip. Walk around the perimeter of a baseball or softball field that borders woods. I have a sack of old baseballs and softballs too.

I get the balloons, baby powder and a funnel to fill the balloons at Dollar Tree!

...literally. I'd go back into the corn field back behind the house and collect a nice little box of dirt clods and line them up as targets. They made a nice cloud of dust when hit.
