If sb281 passes does this mean barett 50 cal rifles will be illegal along with most of them because of the pistol style grip

The M82/107 series semi autos will be. The bolt guns will be okay, I think.

Agreed. Depends on how the final version plays out, but it seems like the current bug-a-boo is semi-automatic rifles. Bans on bolt/pump actions are scheduled for phase 2...

this is one of the BIG problems with this bill.

    (G) “FLASH SUPPRESSOR” MEANS A DEVICE THAT FUNCTIONS, OR IS INTENDED TO FUNCTION, TO PERCEPTIBLY REDUCE OR REDIRECT MUZZLE FLASH FROM THE SHOOTER’S FIELD OF VISION.

I guess it depends on who you ask if this covers a "muzzle brake". I heard one guy testify on this subject that there is no one that defines this.

A flash suppressor and a muzzle brake are two different devices that serve two different purposes.

I understand that but if someone were to look at a muzzle brake they could easily say that it directed the flash away from the line of sight then call it a flash suppressor as described.
