As cool as it is, The owner needs to fabricate a safety cover for the saw blade. That is a huge accident waiting to happen.

It may be, But I have never seen a cutting wheel that looks like a metal saw blade.
Do you mean a carbide cutting wheel ?

It's a metal toothed cutting blade for a mill, like a toothed metal blade for a cutoff saw, only thicker and much less flexible. As long as you automate the process, let it run on it's own and stop the spindle before you approach the setup, it is perfectly safe. I have used one many times on a Bridgeport for various cuts and no, we have no guard, nor do we when milling, drilling or turning on a lathe, any of which can eat you alive if you reach into them when running. This is not something that you do in your basement without proper learnin.. LOL

It would probably take me half a day to set that up.. probably worth looking into if I had to cut down enough cases.. :innocent0

I didn't see teeth, Looks like a diamond cutting wheel for fiberglass, marble etc. I have some and they are just enough to scratch your arm when holding it. Might not be what is in the video though or I could be wrong. Put the machine on a timer and let it run during the night if it is that scary. I say +1 for American ingenuity. OSHA SMOSHA:)

It could be a dangerious machine resulting in injury or death but is no more dangerious that the machines I used to make it.

The cutter is a 4" HSS slitting saw .035" thick.
