So if legislation like this actually goes thru .... then when you are at the range and you are shooting your ammo with serial #'s tracked in a state database, and some undesireable collects your old brass and reloads it and sells to a criminal ..... then the criminal uses said ammo in a crime .... they will come knocking on your door.

There is a good article by SAMMI about the encoded ammunition. It is basically a ammo ban as no manufacturer even makes the stuff. So we will not be able to get ammo. Then, even if we do, as Rhino pointed out, it is BS as a identifier. Plus it will drive the cost up per round over a couple of dollars each, then throw on the Maryland tax they want per round to administer the database.

S2497, A3664 "Large capacity ammunition magazine" means a box, drum, tube or other container which is capable of holding more than 5 rounds of ammunition to be fed continuously and directly therefrom into a semi-automatic firearm.

Is this mean ALL semi-automatic firearm (pistol and rifle)??
Including most of 22rl, shot guns, pistols

Maybe ranges will become like libraries where you checkout (buy) ammo and return the brass to the librarian after shooting. State controlled ammo???
