    If you look up his name on case-search, there isn't much. It looks like his dad was in the recreational pharmaceuticals trade.

    I hope they revoke the suspect's HQL.

    Criminals are exempt from this provision. It clearly states that only law abiding people are held to this law. Which brings up a point of interest.

    Is there a civil and/or criminal penalty for purchasing a handgun without an HQL? Is there an instruction for fine and/or jail time?

    No, because Miller and Vallario are not going to make rock solid laws against criminals that they can't get their clients off from.

    Stories like this one make me think about actually carrying in my home and keeping the doors locked. Thank God the man was able to get to a firearm.
