...you can still find stuff here in the south. I'm currently TDY at Fort Benning and stopped into a local shop called Shooters. They had some ARs in stock as well as uppers, stripped lowers, LPKs, 30 rnd PMAGs and USGI mags, and various AR build parts that are tough to come by these days. They've got a decent inventory of other various firearms, optics, and accessories from many of the top companies like Daniel Defense, Troy, Noveske, YHM, AAC, etc. They also had some .223/5.56, 6.8 SPC, 300 AAC, etc. in stock (albeit one box per customer limit). Granted some stuff was marked up due to demand ($40 per PMAG and limited to 3 per customer for example), but if you're desperate and have a buddy down here who can square you away it might be worth a shot. The shop has an indoor range as well. Most likely useless information for most of you, but just throwing it out there.

Inventory isn't the only issue, the price people are wanting to sell things for is just crazy. I was in a gun shop over the weekend and saw a number of nice firearms in the rack. How about a $1200 semi-auto uzi rifle? How about a Kel Tec PF9 selling for $495. Another gun shop had a Ruger 22/45 gen III for $495.

Sure, there will be some sucker come along and buy these firearms, but the educated won't, at least not right now.
