AR Refinishing Poll

So...I have an "extra" rifle we don't use much anymore. It's a Carbon15 from Bushmaster. It's a no frills weapon. Completely stock.

I previously looked for a carbon fiber floating tube for it and failed to buy one. I was looking through refinishing threads last night and found one where someone photoshopped an American flag on the gun. Looks cool and I know with my painting skill I could do this, well. Wifey seemed to think it would look weird. Worst case...a little brake cleaner and I go back to stock.

So, what do you think!? Should I go for it or not????

It is your rifle, do what you want. I never understood someone taking a "black rifle" and coloring them. To each his own.

In honesty, this is how I feel - which is why I wanted to gauge other's thoughts before I did something unknowingly disrespectful.

I hadn't seen those before...but it's darn close to the finished product of what I would be doing. Obviously flag background instead. I already made the stencils. Oh well....guess I will go with another color.

Think it would look okay if you use more muted colors. The brighter the colors, the tackier it gets IMO
