Just finished building a Anderson lower based AR. Switched out the milspec bolt catch with a Strike Industries 223/5.56/300BLK Enhanced Bolt Catch/Release - Enlarge Surface. Could not get the bolt to hold.
Seemed to not raise up enough to catch bolt. Measured it at 9mm above lower top. Switched out to mil-spec and measured at 11mm. Ah ha.
Took calipers and measured the lower blade of the enhanced catch. and guess what. 2mm wider than mil-spec. Did some minor grinding to reduce width and re-inserted. It increased the hinging distance pivoting on the pin. Bingo.
Just one more reason I love my digital calipers.
