Has anyone who was accepted within the last 2 weeks 8/11 thru today received a NICS?
If so, they would be outliers from the norm in the process. There are a number of folks (myself included) Accepted between 8/1 and 8/11 still waiting (semi-patiently) for their NICS. Right now, based on the data from folks who are just getting approved, Accepted to NICS ran about 16-18 days. This is a lagging indicator as I will be up to 21 days (Accept to NICS) as of tomorrow.

Assigned to a background investigator 8/25.
I guess this is a old auto generated from may issue system ?

Not necessarily. You habe to factor in that each state police barracks are getting diffrent application numbers . Glen burnie might get 48000-50000. Say jessup gets 46000-48000.
If they start at the same time in order jessup at app# 460000 and glen burnei starts with app number 48000 it means app # 48000 will be done.before app #47000.
    App# is differ3ent than permit#

Not only that…. But my app number is 22HGP-007600 I started back in March, but did not submit till 8/2/22

I am sure there are many more like me. So going on app numbers is not a good gauge.

Going on actual permit numbers might be a better gauge. But also keep in mind that just like phone numbers. There are certain permit numbers that won’t be used or issued Either. example… there won’t be a permit number of 000000, or 999999, or 123456, etc…

What is happening between NICS and approved. Just sitting because of volume or something else like the 17 other databases?

NICS seems to follow no rhyme reason. Unless I missed something way up thread. Me being 8/8 accepted and having a NICS date already seems to not follow logical progression. I know I am not the only outlier with quick NICS.
