Due to negligence of my reloading gear, I just ran out of sizing lube and the new stuff won't be in for some time - so I thought I might just use something else.
Well, for some other unknown reason, I still had a sample pack of a silicone based lubricant from the supplier "swiss navy" sitting around. I know you won't believe it, but it actually spreads great on the cases and prevents seizing in the dies.
Additionally, it looks like it is going to be washed off quite easily and it is definately smell neutral.

Anyone in for a group buy?

Just be careful that whatever you're using doesn't migrate into & contaminate the powder or primer. A squib is only a trigger pull away from a kb.

    boule,

Go to Lowe's and buy conduit cable lube. Then go to Wal Mart and buy ISO deicer for gas tanks. Mix 10 alcohol to 1 cable lube, spray on cases, swish around by hand and let dry. This is an alcohol based lube that won't contaminate powder or primers. If you have a Dillon, just pop them in, load and then put the finished rounds in the vibrator for a few minutes to take the lube off.

You can google it or go to handloader.com as many of us are using alternative lubes instead of paying high dollar for 8 oz of the brand name stuff.

The cable lube you want is colored yellow. Don't get the clear gel type as it is water based.

    Regards,

hello ,, its not a good idea to put loaded rounds in a vibrator or a tumbler. doing so can take the outer coating of the powder, and change the burning rate of it.

For high density loads, which is what you should strive for, the powder is packed to tight to lose any meaningful retardant coating. This was checked some years ago by a professional working for ATK although I forget his name at present.

Cleaning the lube from the cases takes about 10 to 15 minutes which is probably less vibration than they get being trucked accross country.
