I am really interested in an Ak-47. I have no clue where to start. What brand do I get. What is reliable and also what caliber. A 7.62 or a 5.45? Can someone give an intro of what to get and what to avoid.
What's your budget?
we have a few different options at Scotts if you come in tomorrow I will be there all day and walk you few the differences and the + and - of each
Ah ok its way easier to explain in person lol make the trip sometime we are a welcoming bunch[/QUOTE
Okay, thank you. I need to figure out what caliber and brand/country and I will be good to go.
What caliber would be cheaper? I am assuming the 5.45. But when things get back to normal will it be easy to get anywhere
5.45 is typically cheaper. It's also now the standard Russian caliber, so it's still in mass military production. However there are, to the best of my knowledge, no domestic mass producers of 5.45. This could be an issue if the anti-gun folks get the import ban they want now.
Also consider ballistics. 7.62 is slow and heavy, packing a good knockdown punch. 5.45 is light and fast, and does it's damage in the same manor as 5.56.
