what is required to be on the "approved list"?

or is it just a crap shoot?

Someone has an ffl get one and submit it to the board. If you want one I'd do this:

    Call aim
Explain they aren't on the roster but you want to tryto get one on it
Ask if they'll except a return if it doesn't work.
Talk to an ffl about paying for one and the transfer and tossing them $50 for their time and see if they'll do the roster stiff.
6-8 weeks later it gets added and you go get your new pistola

Actually, you or I can submit a handgun to the board. Yes, it is legal to buy and bring a handgun into MD that is not approved, for the purpose of submitting it to the board. The dealer must send it to the board or the online shop can send it directly to MSP.

If you submit a handgun and it is not approved, the handgun board doesn't return the gun, but they pay you for it. I want someone to submit a $4,200 Wilson and have it rejected and see the board's faces when they have to pay up.

The board has regular meetings, it is not every six to eight weeks however.
