OP, if I can get my hand on some 22LR brass in the future, would you be willing to trade the brass for bullets? I'd like to do some testing for varmint if you are open to the idea.

What is the weight of the .224 you are making?

I could trde you some bullets for brass. The weight of the bullets using 22LR brass runs from 50(ish) hollow points to 65 with a lead tip. Keep me posted. I'm getting pretty good response from my request.

I've got a gallon bucket full. PM me an address and reimburse the postage after you get them.
I've toyed with the idea of producing my own jacketed bullets a la Mr Speer, but haven't moved in that direction. Don't know if I want to spend the money on that Corbin press. I am sure that I will re accumulate plenty of 22 cases before I make the move.

    Point Forming

The point gets formed. Lighter bullets become hollow points and heavier bullets become lead tips.

Man, that's awesome. I never knew that was possible to do at home. I always imagined it to be a production process far beyond the reach of the average reloader. Might be something for me to consider for a future purchase.

I read about swagging and it indeed is one of the coolest things I have seen. I think the guy I saw was using lead wire too. Pretty pricey to get into but heck if you can swag your own bullets you are independent.

Its kinda what I like about casting. Can't wait to start that at the end of the month hopefully.

You could also find your nearest boy scout summer camp.
They go thru 10's of 1,000's of .22 every summer. All brass is picked up and dumped in a barrel, what happens to it after that???
