1st Sika Deer Harvest

Congrats! How was the hunting, in your opinion, of the Sitka vs whitetail different? Curious to know as I've never hunted Sitka before.

Sitka IMO is much more difficult.......... hunt them just like you would rabbit. Wear waders!

Congrats!! I must say I'm a little jealous, always wanted to do some sika deer hunting. I hear they are great tasting little critter.

congrats To the OP! I wanted to get one when I lived in MD but I only got to go a couple times and only saw one waaaaaaay out of bow range.

Does "Redneck" still frequent? He leased land in the marshes, VERY wet and a lot of Sitka in the Wingate/Toddville area he goes. I prefer something higher and dryer.

We had another member on here whose hunting club had sika deer on their lease and they were looking for members. If I had the money and my kids were not so young and sucked up all my time I would have jumped on it. Not every state has wild roaming sika deer so I say if you get the chance take it!

Did not want to call you by name but figure you would chime in. Can't believe nobody jumped on that. If I did not just have a baby this year and a two year old that sucks up my time I would have done it.

Me either, We've seen more deer then ever on both properties and I've been shocked by all the day time pictures I've have.
