So my father has a 1916 1911 that is army marked along with a a original holster that was given to him in trade years ago for some work he did. My question is would the army still have record of who it was issued to and if so how in the military multiplex would I go by getting it? Or should i just STFU about it and pics forthcoming on it before anyone asks

There's no reason to keep quiet about it, the gummint wrote it off early in the last century, by mid-century at the latest. Yes, let's see pics of another grand old warhorse, we never get tired of them.

I don't believe you an trace who owned the gun in the military by the serial #. Your 1911 has after market front and rear sights and post WW1 handgrips also.Possibly re blued but hard to tell from pics.
