1911

In my quest for a new gun I have finally decided to jump on the 1911 bandwaggon and see what its all about. I have only fired 1 1911 and that was a buddies Rock Island. I liked it but I had nothing to compare it to. Another friend of my suggested a Shooters Arms 1911. Its hard to argue with the price and it appears to be on the MD roster. Anyone have any expirence with these? I can't afford a top of the line 1911. Maybe down the road but right now I am looking for a decent shooter, starter 1911.

The Gun Shop in essex had a few 1911s still left when I was there Sun. Desert eagle, remington, used colt kimber and a few others.

Hard to make suggestions without knowing your budget. Personally I have and would recommend a Springfield Range Officer. It's the best bang for your buck in the realm of factory target 1911s.

What about the other names that armscor builds guns for? Are these basically the same with a different name on them?

Metros seem to be nice. They are all similar tier

I have the Springfield Mil-spec and it's been a dream! I believe it's price point is comparable to the rock island.

I haven't had experience with the Rock Island, but I have with the base level Springfields and they are exceptional. I don't know why but I (and it seems many shooters) shoot the 1911 better than other guns.

I like my Springfield Longslide. Pretty accurate for a big bore pistol.
