The only thing I can hope is they started with just a receiver that had already been drilled for a scope....
That front sight is awfully close to stopping the barrel cycling properly. Not sure why it's that far back. Well, not sure of anything there....

Even a stripped receiver for one of these will run you over a grand. Yeesh.

Karma's a real bitch sometimes. It appears that these "business owners" didn't actually own the business, and they didn't report any income over a couple of years' time. They apparently got a major visit from the IRS back in 2013. Now it seems like BATFE pulled a raid on them this past April.

Geez ... if you are gonna be on TV, you really want to keep your books clean.

I HATE when the IRA visits. It's all "tosser" this and "wanker" that.

I posted this pic on my FB wall saying "whoever did this to the poor rifle needs smacked in the face"

Most people agreed....however this DVD-Trained (AGI Institute) "Professional gunsmith" who lives near me, keeps arguing that there's nothing wrong with chopping up a Mosin.

Lemme give you some background on this guy:

He's scheduled AK building classes, taken peoples pre-paid money for the time and parts, kept it, canceled the classes, and refused to answer his phone. Never gave people's money back.

He's done transfers for people and had their firearms for months refusing to answer phone, email, etc.

He's butchered many guns people have taken to him for repairs.

In my case, I took him my SAIGA to convert it to take regular AK mags. Instead of installing a bullet guide, he tried to dremel the bottom of the chamber and make some kind of "bubba" feed ramp. Looks like a 3rd grader did it. He chopped too much off the mag release, so mags flop around.

He was supposed to cut the cover off the threads on the end of the barrel to expose them for a muzzle brake, and he dremeled it all the way back to the front sight hood, so there's a big gap between the brake and the front sight hood.

While doing the muzzle brake, he dremeled down into the actual barrel. Not much, but SERIOUSLY??????

I took the rifle back to him to get fixed, and his fix was to paint a piece of copper tubing black, and stick it between the muzzle brake and the front sight hood. The paint was already flaking and the copper showing through when he showed it to me.

He had used a pipe wrench to get the muzzle brake off, without any kind of padding, and totally butchered the muzzle brake all to hell. He painted it black, too, to cover up the tool marks.




Anyway.....his comment was "over a BILLION (yes he said billion) Mosins were built and they are a dime a dozen and people should go "hog wild" doing whatever they want to them. It's not like it is a 1903 or something else with collector value. "



This guy sucks. The only good thing my ex-wife ever did was bang on their door several times, until they finally answered the door, and get 3 of my guns back he had for SEVERAL months while I called and left 100 messages.

And this guy has a 01 FFL and still advertises as a "Professional Gunsmith"

Can't see how he makes any money with all the people he's screwed over.

Oh, and after I schooled him on why it's bad to bubba a Mosin, he now claims the pic is a photoshop and nothing permanent has been done to the rifle.


I am honestly wondering if this is a pic of a rifle HE worked on, the way he's defending it???

A person could have a lot of fun with aguy like that.

WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THIS?! Also, I'm pretty sure this is now a single shot rifle- take a good look at the front sight...

The barrel on these rifles reciprocates under the handguard!
