Frustrating...

I've been looking for a fun .22 to plink with, I'm up in Northeast PA visiting the inlaws and decided to visit a local gun store. I found a used SCAR in .22 for a steal and thought this has got to go home with me. Much to my disappointment when I pulled out my MD ID the lady at the counter said they don't sell to MD residents. The only thing I would be able to buy from them was ammunition... I explained I am very familiar with MD gun laws and that selling me magazines was 100% ok and that the firearm I wanted was ok as well. She then walked off and talked to her boss and came back with the same response. I let them know I didn't agree but understood where they were coming from. So moral of the story is I am leaving PA empty handed...

Maybe too far from the MD border? I would think those PA dealers that are closer to the border are more used to sales (and depend on them to an extent) to people from MD. Also could be the proximity of NE PA to NY and NJ, so they might have a general no sales to out-of-state buyers because the restrictions are too complicated.

Which SCAR chambers 22LR? Do you mean this Anschütz patterned on the SCAR ...

I don't know what store you went to in PA. I deal with Stonybrook Shooting Supplies in Stonybrook York Co. and Gun Bunker in Shrewsberry and have had no problems.

Yeah, it "sux" other state LGSs won't take the time to learn what is legal and what isn't in MD, but even in MD you get different interpretations between the LGSs, MSP, and AG.
