I got the letter too. I was wondering the same thing. No financial info... but I don't like the idea that some random guy might have a copy of my FFL and DL. Then again, it was probably someone in China and what good would it do them.

They often sell them on the Black Web to criminals here in the US.

Looks like AIM has been hacked and someone gained access to uploaded FFL's and drivers licence images. I just received a letter in the mail from them explaining this and their offer to provide one year of credit monitoring alerts through Experian. So this happened on Apr 4th, whew! I uploaded my stuff after that. So it's a good thing the Feds were slow with my C&R approval, or the crooks would have got me too!

Folks, if you aren't about to make any big purchases on credit, put a freeze on your credit reports.
Costs a little money to lock an unlock, but nobody who doesn't already have access can get at them while locked. Well worth it I think.

Well what the hell - OPM gave all my info to the Chinese and Russians, so what difference does it make ;)

I work for DHS. My info was mishandled by OPM too. I have a premium membership with LifeLock. If I had a dollar for each free monitoring service I've been offered due to breaches, I'd be rich.

Financial hack? No. They go after merchants/financial institutions with sizable customer base. Compared to Target hack for example, AIM is miniscule.
Anti 2A groups, up to possibly highest level in government? Quite possible.
Recall hack on CW permit holders.
Consider major "by the back door" efforts to achieve "de facto" gun registration by the lawless " by decree" people now in charge of the USA. Not a group to be stopped by the laws of the courts. Hackers is a stealthy answer to achieving one of the goals they are most obsessed with , and possibly before their term in office expires. Let's do everything we can to support the NRA and other groups fighting for our rights

Hmmm I did not get any letter and they have a copy of my 03FFL. Wonder if they didn't get everyone?

I was expecting an email, too. So I went online and checked - they showed my FFL expiring in 2013, so I must not have sent them my renewed C&R (I haven't ordered anything from them in a while.)

To check, log in and go to "My Account", then "Edit My Account". It will show your license information at the bottom of the page.

I guess I dodged a bullet by not sending them my C&R renewal.

Aim lost mine. So did home depot, the us army and OPM.... I don't think it really matters anymore. In fact why not just make it all available and take the market away from hackers. Hell some Chinese guy has my clearance info and the feds didn't seem to care. The govern!ent lost mine twice but I still have to go to PII training to get told how not to lose it.
