You guys are everywhere. I have InterCon as a customer at a security shack in almost the middle of nowhere, NV, or just over the border in CA. I'd have to look it up for specifics.

Mighty fine pay scale at $29.42. Is that maxed out or still leaves room for growth?

The $29.42 is the base officer rate for the Washington DC area. Plus we give an additional $4.25 for health care, there is a quarterly bonus of $250 if you continue to fall below your weight standard and a quarterly clearance bonus of $750 once your Top Secret is adjudicated. If you become K9 there is a 6k a year bonus paid also in quarterly installments.
Promotions open up regularly if that's your ambition. SGT base rate is $34.72 and LT is $39.05. Not the easiest job out there but it pays better than delivering pizza's!

Yep, up to 4 post's now. I'm intimidated by all you subject matter experts. I have supported the site financially through the years though.

    Big fan of caffeine...and guns.

Cool. Glad to have you posting now.

The security gig sounds like a good opportunity for some. Since I retired, I can no longer meet Army standards; but then again, I'm no longer looking for a physically demanding job.

I'll just look forward to your future 'caffeine and gun' inspired pontifications in the future. :)

So if my calculations are correct that's a little over 61k a year base pay and over 87k as a Lt. Not counting the bonuses etc. (hourly rate x 40 hours x 52 weeks)

That's more than I make as a teacher with 19 years experience and a masters degree!!

Think if it would be better than teaching 25 kindergarten kids at a time? Lol

I think for you from what we've briefly spoke on here its definitely worth talking business if the pay is guaranteed. I'm always up for talking business but some things have to make sense to do it.

Better pay, type of work/hours, longer drive, health insurance, chances of not working, etc. etc.
