HQL Process update

motorcoachdoug - I'm going to go with either a 9mm Glock 17 or 19. I thought for sure it would be the 19 given that I kinda have small hands, but I held both today and the bigger 17 actually felt better. I never touched a gun before the HQL course, so I'm really new to this. BTW... still waiting for the HQL card to arrive in the mail.

vilekyle - If you haven't already, I'd recommend renting some options and trying them out. Glock makes some fine guns, and I'd be happy to own one, but they don't fit my hand well. It's worth it to try several different kinds to see what fits you well, not just in the shop but also firing it.

I am having problems with the HQL application. I've answered the questions 3 seperate times, clicked the submit but it won't let me pay fees. It is a PIA having to get finger prints but this is really making me :mad54:

JamesH- I plan on doing that this weekend.

BTW... HQL card arrived today. Submitted 9/19, approved 10/06, arrived in mail 10/9.

I finally figured out what I did wrong. I made a mistake on the first page. But for some reason it kept directing me back to the question page. I was going crazy!

Mines the same redeye, I submitted on the 25th. I'm thinking this week it should be approved and hopefully show up! I have a pistol I have been trying to sell but plan on trying to trade once I can get this HQL in hand!

Did you own a handgun previously or military/police background? I submitted mine one day after you on 10/2 and literally only the DHMH check is complete. I emailed them (in hindsight probably aggravated them) trying to get an idea on average and whether or not the site was worth checking and received the following.

"We have 30 days to process and complete an HQL application from the date it is received in our office."

Yeah I figured that was the case, seems like those are getting through loads faster, should have just bit the bullet before 2013 and bought up my 1911.

Update!!

I got my active status first thing this morning, so applied 10/2 and active on 10/20. Now to wait for the card and double check my wish list! :shocked4:
