The elderly widow of a good friend has asked me to do some research on how to sell her late husband's Maryland- registered legaL m2 carbine and to try to pin an approximate value on it. She is the heir and Executrix of the estate and holds proper letter of administration paperwork.
Maryland just sent her license renewal paperwork which has to be submitted on-line--a daunting task for an 81 year old ...

After doing some digging on-line, I toldhermy best guess of value was around $6k retail and about $5k wholesale. How close is this to the mark? Gun appears to be correct and is a "runner".

Can anyone recommend a local Class III licensee who might be able to either buy or broker this item and take care of all the bureaucracy and paperwork
so she does not have to do anything more than provide a LOA and signed bill-of sale.

If there are any sensitive issues please send me a
    PM... Thanks

    Any other advice, pitfalls, etc??

Duffy's would be happy to help with this if we're a convenient location for her.

Well here is what I consider to be Retail FFL/SOT value depending if its C&R or not. That is if I walked into a Gun store I would expect to see around these prices.

I would say private sales are usually 10-15% less or so.

It depends on exactly what kind of M2 it is. Amnesty registered, conversion kit, Class 2 manufacturer registered etc.
