    Soooo, as long as you don't shoot through the "solvent trap" they're legal?

    What if someone forgets to remove the trap and sends a round down range? It happens to some absent minded people while bore sighting. Although the outcome of this scenario would be far more desirable.

    ATF can arrest you and put you in a boatload of trouble.

    $85 (plus $200 tax stamp) buys you a Class III oil filter suppressor:

    But realize that the filter has to be serialized by the manufacturer meaning to keep it ATF-legal you need to buy replacement filters for $25 from the silencer manufacturer. You cannot go to Pepboys and buy a new one and be legal.

    IMHO, better off buying a real silencer if you plan on keeping it legal.
