ATF is Confiscating all non explosive 40mm Factory Ammo

Including 40mm Chalk. :sad20:

They are doing it over some obscure regulation with storage requirements and paperwork that is supposedly required for transfers.

There is a thread on ARFCOM and GROG forum about it.

The last parargaph refers to the I.R. Flares that ATF is confiscating. They are NON explosive and does not have a charge that makes them a DD in themselves. ATF is stil treating them like a DD.

OK I got that.. but as it reads.. anything that has any component used in small arms cartridges brings it under atf regulation and they can claim its a DD.. like brass... maybe..

Very curious to see if this gets picked up in some of bigger gun websites. The ATF needs serious reform as does the NFA. By reform I mean disbanded.

So by that definition 25 and 37mm flares are at risk, same with 20mm or any other DD ammo "because we said so"

Mexican drug cartels use 40mm grenade launchers so maybe some of the DEA's friends in the drug cartels need some IR flares for taking on rivals and the Mexican military. After all, El Chapo is now free again.
You can get a lot with a few sex parties.

Those are much harder because of no paper trail.

A $50 tax is paid for each 40mm round, pre-approved by the BATFE.

They're ba-ack.

They went after the M855 a few months ago and were forced to back off.

Now they're back, going after something that won't cause such an outcry.

Small bites: a nibble here, a crumb there.

They will take ground wherever they can. They won't stop until all the peasants are disarmed, except the bodyguards of the elite and the criminal gangs. (Criminal gangs they can accept as just another power/actor. It's the proletariat that must be disarmed.)

This is just one small step...

You do need them for hogs if you don't have a night vision scope. Flares can be handy in the situation.
