      After 6 Years - First AR-15 Complete

About 6 years ago I bought a Spikes lower in a group buy here on MDS. Built the lower out fairly quickly and then left it sitting lonely in the safe for years. Finally have finished it off. Ended up with an Adams Arms piston upper and then added a Vortex Strike Eagle. Can't wait to get this...

1st AR - Irons, Red Dot or Variable?

I'll eventually have both, but for now prioritizing. The Strike Eagle has an etched reticle if the battery fails. And I don't want to spend anymore on my rifle for now after buying the Adams Piston Upper, Strike Eagle, and Mount. And of course buying up some .223 ammo to ensure i'm not out of...

1st AR - Irons, Red Dot or Variable?

I ended up deciding to go with the Strike Eagle. I figured down the road i'd want a variable anyways, and if I got irons i'd prefer offset irons with the scope. Plus its pretty versatile.

1st AR - Irons, Red Dot or Variable?

For now it'll just be for punching holes in paper. I'd snag the Magpul MBUS, but would need to go for the pros. The front would need to be mounted on the gas block.

1st AR - Irons, Red Dot or Variable?

From everything i've read the Spitfire is perfect for an astigmatism. The reticle is etched in the glass and the prism prevents the effects of the red dot flare.

1st AR - Irons, Red Dot or Variable?

Years ago I bought a lower on here as part of a group buy that I completed and never bothered to put an upper on it. After 6 years in the safe, I now have an Adams Arms piston upper set to arrive Tuesday and need to finish this build off. I can't make up my mind on this one, what should I do...

      Vortex or Primary arms

The furthest out the range I typically go to is 300 yards. So likely within that. This is my first AR though so I will probably bounce around the distances. Part of the reason I'm drawn to a variable optic. Well that and my astigmatism makes red dots worthless. Also have been doing some...

      Vortex or Primary arms

Sorry to dig up a older thread, but in the market for an optic and deciding between the Strike Eagle and PST. How do you feel the reticles compare? I don't mind paying the extra for the PST, but the extra magnification and reticle are drawing me to the SE. But this will be my first real optic...

I've returned to Smith & Wesson

The real question is what are you going to carry now with the lcr gone? 1911 or S&W Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

      Glock 26 IWB holster

It is definitely a bit steep. But it's worth it in terms of comfort and as I mentioned especially breathability. I also have a Comptac Flatline and it's nice but now it's relegated to OWB only. I have no worries in terms of how long it will last. It is high quality once you get your hands on...

      Glock 26 IWB holster

I have one and love it. The breath ability is huge here in Texas. Mine said it would take 2-3 weeks and shipped in 2 days. Although for a different gun.

      S&W S

In fairness it's still 8+1 over 6. I didn't have a desire to carry a double stack. Maybe once I've had my chl for a while I'll get a glock 19. I want to in general but even still I think the shield would have a place in my rotation. And likely be my main carry gun.

      S&W S

I bought one for the main purpose of carrying. Just got my CHL 2 weeks ago and have carried it a few times since. Very easy to conceal and is a joy to shoot. I'm very happy with my purchase. I had access to a discount so I got mine for $310 but wouldn't hesitate to pay full price for it.

Whataburger just flushed a ton of business away

My CHL instructor actually said he is a bit worried open carry will lead to fewer places we can conceal carry. If a business puts up the 30.07 sign to bar open they may just throw up the 30.06 to bar concealed as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks like TX gets OC in 2016

Finally Texas oc made it through the house and senate. Too bad the amendment was stripped to bar police from stopping chl holders to ask for their license. But atleast it will be passed.

Looks like TX gets OC in 2016

The amendment was pushed by the liberals as a poison pill and then some others latched on. Will be a total crock if it falls through. Although in truth I have no intentions of open carrying here. I just liked the extra protection for accidentally showing. Although it's already protected to some...

Texas Gov Greg Abbot to pass OC.

Just moved to Texas in October. Looking forward to CCW but this could be a nice bonus.

Frosh: No energy for more gun control

Maryland is pretty damn blue in the areas necessary to control the state. Id like to think the tide could turn. Especially with the safe act, health exchange, and even rain tax but I'm just not seeing it. As long as you have a D next to your name in this state your set for life. We are very...

17 Shot, 8 killed in Baltimore this weekend. 6/23

Based on the media so far doesn't look like any innocents fell victim here. Most of those shot probably have records and couldn't carry anyways. I'm reminded of this scene in Training Day Jake Hoyt: That's street justice. Alonzo Harris: What's wrong with street justice? Jake Hoyt: Oh, what, so...
