Woodworking Show 3-5 Jan 2014 State Fairgrounds

Interesting that this show, which comes around only once per year, is 12 bucks for a ticket, which can be used all 3 days, and includes free seminars, which are actually pretty good. Lot of tables, too. http://www.thewoodworkingshows.com/shows.htm Oh, and 2 bucks off if you buy your ticket...

      4/3 Walk Out

Please encourage legislators to walk out as soon as SB281 is opened for the 3rd reading. It is obvious that this garbage will pass. Let it pass without those who oppose it in order to send the real message to the governor, the people of Maryland, and the United States.

      Responses from Maryland delegates

Quick response from Cathy Vitale to my email sent this morning (probably duped other folks, which is fine) Dear sykesville, I appreciate your e-mail. Please know that I am an ardent supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights. I am sure there will be many bills introduced during the upcoming...

Mandatory NRA Membership to join MDS?

Curious what the opinions would be about making NRA (or similar) membership mandatory before joining MDS. Lots of new members here lately - could be a good opportunity.

      Eagles in Howard County.

Driving to work on Thursday, 15 Nov, at approximately 0715, I saw two adult bald eagles in a tree stand located almost exactly 2500 ft N/NE along Folly Quarter Road from the circle at the intersection of Folly Quarter Road and Shepard's Lane (I believe it's Clarksville). What a sight! According...

      Best tasting deer?

Attention deer hunting aficionados: what's the best tasting sex/size/age deer? This year (my first deer hunting season) has got to be all about the meat so that my wife and daughter (who aren't too keen on the idea) see that they can also enjoy the take. Thanks

      Best knife for skinning deer?

First time deer hunter this season. I will attempt to do a gutless field dressing (as seen on youtube) and want a super sharp knife and one able to hold that edge in order to skin just about the entire deer as effortlessly as possible. It seems to me that a drop point knife would be the...

      Wilson Combat stuff

Curious if any MD dealers have any Wilson Combat 1911 .45s in stock. I am intrigued by the cost of those pistols. What I really wonder if it is more affordable to buy one rather than to spend the money over time to get a 1911 customized to something comparable.

      Boar!

Any experienced boar hunters here? Anyone go within a couple states to do it? (PA, VA, WVA, NC, NJ)? Got a hankering to go, and looking for recommendations. Also, do you have to field clean them like deer before hauling them to a butcher?
