Alas, I've got an out of town commitment for Sunday. Otherwise weather-wise it'd be great. I shot my first sporting clays in TX last weekend and it was glorious.
Another vote for the light rail. The driving commute during school hours can be nasty.
If there is a Baltimore meet up can someone drop me a PM? Thanks!
If she does live on Mt Royal then she's delusional. Yes it's a segregated city, at least in that neighborhood, but when I lived in that same place a few years back I clearly recall this incident...
As one of the newest members, I will PM blast you some info, and you can ask follow-up questions. I have some of it prepped already, because I took some coworkers there a few weeks back.
I've totally caught the clays bug. I joined Loch Raven a few weeks ago. Shot 2 rounds of trap on Wednesday and bought 2 flats of target loads. Can't wait to try out all the SC courses and hopefully meet some more MDS sportsmen.
I don't know his back story, but I really appreciate the levity he brings. I hope he makes more videos. The 1911 fix video was awesome. Same with the " no touchy " one.
I'll send you a PM when I get a better idea of the weather. I'm staunchly fairweather for shotgun sports :-D Lots to do on this particular Sunday, and I'm nowhere near ready for 100 rounds of SC, but come springtime...
Yikes!
I'm thinking about trying to get there on Wednesday lunch, or early Thursday ( with them opening at 10 ). I joined this week.
Oh and nice write up. SC seems like a fun thing to do....when its warm out!
Tried out trap today! I saw tennisdr on his way out. Rented a Beretta A400. Got 19/25 on the second round. The first was shot so fast ( with others ) I couldn't keep count. Great fun though!
I didn't know anything about skeet before yesterday :-D 5 stand sounds too advanced for my meager abilities though, but I'm game for anything I suppose!
24" barrel length, no pistol grip (is what I overheard whilst standing around the clubhouse). Pumps no problem, and they rent autos and O/U...
Sounds like a blast. I'll ask the wife "hey, I'm thinking of skipping that brunch we're hosting to go shoot some shotguns". See how it fares.
Hopefully a couple more will come up through the year :P
Oh man did I have some fun at Loch Raven this afternoon.
My eternal gratitude to tennisdr for meeting up with me and giving me an intensive and informative crash course in the game of skeet - shot 2 rounds of practice target and then the "real deal" under pressure. I learned a tremendous...
