During an NRA pistol course I asked this question to a longstanding Montgomery County PD member. He said a backpack or rifle case is fine, as long as the ammo is separate from the firearm. He said that in the case of a rifle case, the exterior mag holders are a fine place to store ammo.

I've found setting up fun targets like the self sealing ones or steel targets helps to break a bad streak. You just relax and it's either hit or miss, but you have fun. After doing that for a while I will shoot much better on paper.
Can anyone provide a link to anyone who has been convicted under constructive possession? I've heard this was mostly BS. The only case I've seen was the guy who tried to sell a pistol with a stock and foregrip accessory to an undercover cop, which is leagues away from what we're talking about...
