Congrats and thank you for the review!
My Cimarron action feels a bit rough but may be okay after it’s broken in a bit. I’d love to add a short stroke kit and have it “slicked up” but I’m not sure who to take/send it to. Any thoughts?
I haven’t shot mine yet but I can say that it’s truly a work of art. Case colored hardening, fit and finish, and attention to detail are amazing. I look forward to hearing your comparison!
Thank you.
I’ve watched a lot of videos which is probably why I have so many questions. From what I hear, Cody doesn’t replace parts but he does lighten springs which have led to light strikes with some primers. At least that’s what I saw in one of the videos I watched.
I’m looking to learn more about short stroke kits for my model 1873. From what I’ve seen/read, there are various generations of these kits with various pros and cons. I’m just looking for something reliable enough to handle .357 magnum rounds without the possibility of primer “light strikes”...
I just took possession of my Cimarron Texas Brush Popper and it is gorgeous! Wasn’t a fan of the pistol grip stock but it’s growing on me. It’s chambered in .357 magnum and has an 18” half octagon barrel. I can’t wait to shoot it!
I just bought a nice soft suede rifle sheath and was curious to know if it would be safe to store my rifle in it. Does anyone know if the suede may have any harmful effect on the blued finish?
Thank you!
It was up to 20 bids with three days left, so there was a lot of interest and I really didn’t want to get caught up in a bidding war and take the chance of missing out on it. The “Buy it Now” price really wasn’t that bad either, IMO.
No love for Uberti?
I just scored this nice 1873 from GB.
It has an 18” half octagon barrel, and is chambered in 357 mag. I paid just over $1400 which may be a little high, but I’ve wanted one for a long time and don’t anticipate prices going down any time soon, if ever.
I believe they were both made in the UK. They are the older models.
I added the combat grips and red dot to the Hurricane.
The Tempest is all original.
