I can tell you that there is no state law against this, but there are a lot of local ordinances that prevent this.
Where I work (Baltimore City), open carrying a long gun carries a penalty of 60 days.

I FINALLY got my AK out to the range today. I am not a fan of the Galil handguard. It also feels like my pistol grip is slightly loose. Other than that, it was a blast to shoot.
