Maybe something like this would be worth saving up for, but still concerned about the cost and availability of .300 ammo. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=379475144
I shoulda mentioned the wife has been pressuring me to pick something for xmas and she said she would go in on a gun if thats what I wanted. I am not opposed to building my own eventually, but I have enough other projects going on right now, plus a baby on the way, that its just not something...
Been asked before but curious given the recent drop (almost back to normal) for, in particular, AR's, what advice I might receive.
I own an M44, a CZ52, and a Remington 870. Tried deer hunting with the M44 this year and its just way too loud and not accurate enough, ended up borrowing a...
proprietary mags WOULD be a concern for me, but since the catamount mags are in stock are a few places vs saiga/vepr mags being sold out EVERYWHERE for the past 6 months, its a bit less of a concern. My next gun almost certainly be either the catamount or the MKA, unless the wife decides to be...
is there any accuracy with this? I can't imagine there would be much.... them shooting the bottle from a foot away just makes me think it must been as awful as I'd imagine.
check all the hole in the wall fishing/hunting stores, you are guaranteed to meet some nice folks, and thats how my friend stumbled onto the last few boxes of .22 maybe in the entire eastern panhandle. lol.
went skeet shooting last weekend at peacemaker with a few other guys, had a great time and was hitting the clays pretty good. I got a skeet choke and it seemed to make a difference.
Good to know about the steel wool and dowel rod, 1000 rounds sounds like a lot but going through 75 rounds a...
loved it!
Great place, friggin HUGE! 17 ranges total, they said. their rifle range is pretty awesome, has the monitors so you can see your shots.
I went with a group of 8 to shoot clays, they were very friendly in the office and got us right out onto the range. The range workers were...
I've never been to a real range, the intimidation factor is pretty high for me. My friend has been inviting me to go though, so I may go with him sometime. My experience for shotguns has all been with a sit on clay launcher at my brothers or my friends house. You guys do raise good points...
Good point. I'm not sure my friends want to yank the heavy spring loaded clay thrower back more than 5 times in a row without drinking a beer anyway. lol
any reason not to buy a magazine extension for use on the range?
also, whats the deal with the extended chokes? I see both standard and extended. extended cost more.
Ok, I gotcha. Yeah looks like that would give me a bigger pattern and help bust some clays. What are people running for actually shooting ducks and fowl? Seems like you wouldn't want to just spray them with pellets but would actually want a somewhat concentrated pattern, no? Maybe improved...
the skeet choke looks like its just a step down from a full choke... am I backward? I thought full or skeet choke gave you a tighter pattern that would be better for longer distances?
If youre considering the mossberg just go to a store that has both (dicks does) and hold them. I did. the mossberg's slide felt very sloppy and the gun itself had bigger tolerances and gaps where pieces fit together.
From then on I was benelli nova/supernova vs remington 887 vs remington...
walmarts around eastern panhandle of WV are well stocked in 12 gauge, as was gander mtn just south of winchester. Only problem with gander is they only have the federal in 25 round boxes and they are enforcing a 3 box limit. Kinda lame when you could buy 300 rounds if they had the 100 round...
