One of my W&C students had the following experience, which I assisted him in resolving.
-Burglary charge 12 years ago.
-filed for and received expungement in early 2023.
-applied and got approved for w&c mid 2023.
-applied for free HQL, received late 2023.
-applied for regulated firearm...
I believe comar requires 1 instructor or rso per 4 students on the line, for mpctc courses. It doesn't apply to us, but it does.
NRA and USCCA have separate requirements, if you are teaching their courses.
I have a feeling the person that wrote those suggestions is the only person in the state that teaches those 40 hour courses. He knows what he's suggesting, and trying to make his course mandatory for all instructors in the state. I believe the current rate is $1000 or $1500 per student
The only "5 day class" is the mpctc instructor course for law enforcement. Day 1 is basic handgun, 2 shotgun, and 3 carbine. The remaining 2 days are red dots, safety and the equivalent of BIT.
But the course is only available to law enforcement. I can see how some instructors would push for...
