What weapons to recommend
There are a lot of factors to consider.
Will they be carrying when they leave home? Are they living in a populated area or out in the sticks? After taking those things into consideration you might want to take them to a range to try out different options and better...
For me mine is as accurate out to 15 yards as my GP-100 or my Security Six.
I have the Hogue grips but I use speed strips for reloading all of my SA/DA revolvers.
TempurPedic controls the pricing on their mattresses. The only help I can give on a TP purchase would be free delivery, set up and take away of your old bed. I can also give discounts on accessories.
I have been reloading for less than a year, so I have a lot to learn. I have experienced some anomalies with my reloads that I cannot explain.
Reloading 45ACP, most of my rounds go bang but I have had some that seated too far into the case. I have also had reloads of 45ACP and other calibers...
My first C&R eligible gun I purchased before I received my FFL03. It was a Mosin Nagant 91/30 Hex (Octagon) receiver that I bought from SOG for 69.99 if memory serves me correctly. Since then I have added a 91/30 Sniper w/PU Scope, an M44 Carbine, a 1895 Nagant Officer's revolver, an M1...
IMHO even though prices have gone up on this pistol, it is still the best value for a C&R purchase. About the size of a compact Glock, it fits my hand perfectly, the sights are good even with my old eyes and I can put my rounds right where I want them at SD distances.
The Russian ammo on the...
I have used gunauctions.com extensively but I buy many of my C&R guns from SOG. You can only buy from them if you have an FFL (FFL03 C&R is acceptable).
Welcome. I am also in Damascus. Over the years I have used the Gun Shack/Crosswinds in Mt. Airy, Engage Arms, Silver Spring and Glade Valley Sporting Goods, Frederick.
For many of my transfers I have used the Gun shack. They are very nice people and their shop is truly a mom and pop place...
Congrats. I just received my service grade a few weeks ago. I have not had the chance to get it to the range yet but I also bought the Greek ball ammo. IMHO CMP is the way to go for a Garand. With the exception of having to de-cosmoline the rifle, it was in remarkably good condition.
I received my service grade from CMP a couple of weeks ago. It is an HRA. The barrel, receiver and bolt are HRA. The trigger group is SA. There are no markings on the furniture.
I will be spending some quality time with at the range tomorrow shooting the Greek surplus ammo I purchased with it.
Nice start to your C&R collection. What to get next? I would highly recommend picking up a CZ-82 while they are still cheap. I believe they can still be had for around the $200 mark and they are well worth the money.
